We are seeking a passionate and driven individual who has extensive experience in delivering positive outcomes with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to join us on a full-time basis. You will play a role in contributing to the evolution and implementation of Intrepid Travel’s Australian reconciliation work, with a focus on project managing Intrepid’s involvement in a national program to support Indigenous tourism businesses. Alongside our reconciliation commitments, we are also working on championing First Nation’s culture in the destinations we visit, with the aim of growing the sector and creating greater economic opportunities for Indigenous businesses and communities.

As an Indigenous Purpose Specialist with Intrepid some of the tasks you’ll support are:

• Engaging Intrepid’s people to foster best practices for implementing reconciliation in Australia, while providing guidance where possible on engagement with First Nation peoples throughout the company’s global operations.

• Lead projects to positively impact the Indigenous tourism sector in Australia.

• Connect to other B Corp businesses involved in reconciliation, as well as other tourism businesses and government partners.

• Reconciliation efforts via involvement with the Intrepid Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan and reporting, enhancing cultural learning, managing stakeholder engagement, and advising on developing culturally appropriate product.

Some of the experience you’ll bring is:

• Experience driving Reconciliation Action Plan actions in a business environment and developing RAP plans

• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and delivering

• Project management, including monitoring and evaluation experience

• Excellent research and analytical skills with timely delivery

This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office, we believe vaccines play a critical role in the safe return of travel. To ensure our workplaces are safe, we require proof of Covid-19 vaccination when you work from an Intrepid office, attend company events or travel on trips. For those who can’t provide proof of vaccination or a medical exemption, we may offer the option of remote work.
